I have been doing some type of craft work my entire life. For
years I made jewelry, more recently doing some silversmithing and Peyote and Ndebele weaving; working with the tiny
beads became difficult. Then, a friend of mine was moving back to Switzerland and left me her collection
of craft shells. And so began my passion for creating designs with these lovely gifts from the ocean. I had fun
experimenting, and there was definitely a learning curve in getting the hang of working with the shells. Most
of my shell work has with the the larger flowers, but last fall I started working with the small shells and am enjoying
that (see the photo on my home page of the small shell design done in an empty pocket watch). My next project
will be trying my hand at a Sailor's Valentine! I am constantly searching for different shells to work with, so please
check back to see what I have been able to find!
